About Us

Through both qualitative and quantitative methods, the HEFT Lab focuses on health, family, and technology in its research areas due to the intricate interplay between these fundamental aspects of human life within contemporary society.

 

By understanding how health, familial dynamics and interconnecting areas influence daily life, the HELF Lab aims to provides insight into broader societal trends and shifts, examining how these factors intersect offers valuable perspectives on societal change.

Furthermore, such research sheds light on disparities and inequalities within society. By analyzing these three core research areas, the HEFT Lab's goal is to contribute to unveiling the complexities of familial relationships, health and social inequality in the digital age.

3. Actively disseminating our findings to policy makers, academics, and members of the public

4. Mentoring and training graduate and undergraduate students interested in the HEFT Lab's core research areas

Land Acknowledgement

We acknowledge that the HEFT Lab is located on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, LÅ«naapéewak and Attawandaron peoples, on lands connected with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.

We acknowledge them as the original caretakers of this land and recognize the long-standing relationships that Indigenous nations across Turtle Island have to this land. We all have rights and responsibilities under the treaties made with Indigenous nations and we, as settlers or newcomers to Canada, accept the responsibility to contribute to revealing and correcting miseducation and to go forward in the spirit of respect, reconciliation and collaboration in our teaching, research and service to our communities.
